Doris A. Petrie Baxter, 85, of Travelers Rest, widow of Edwin (Ed) Stewart Baxter, went home to be with our Lord on Saturday, February 23, 2013.
Born in Camden, NJ, and was the beloved daughter of the late Elsie and Peter Petrie. Her greatest joy in life was her family and friends.
She had the gift of laughter, loved to dance and had a warm inviting heart. She loved people, never met a stranger and was loved by anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. She was a member of the 55 Bowling Club.
She was the beloved mother of five children, James O?Connor (Valerie), Sandra Majka (Rob), Eileen Mackey (Bill), Judi Baxter-Searcy (Gene), and the late Edward T. Baxter; grandmother of five grandchildren, Marianne Granger, Jennifer O?Connor, Traci Mount, Michael Majka and Kristan Garofalo; and twenty great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and a beloved sister, Irene Worden.
A memorial service will be held 4:00 p.m. Wednesday at The Wood Mortuary Chapel.
Visitation will be held 2:30 until 3:45 p.m.
Wednesday at the mortuary prior to the service.
