Edwin Francis Longhurst, Jr., 95, widower of Charlotte "Peggy" Bortell Longhurst, 1306 Pelham Road, died January 7, 2016.

A native of Albany, NY. son of the late Edwin Francis Longhurst, Sr., and Grace Campbell Longhurst, he was a retired employee of General Electric, a US Navy WWII Veteran who served on the USS Orion, a Hejaz Shriner and he was also a member of Grace United Methodist Church.

Surviving:

Surviving are one daughter, Karen Longhurst of Greer; two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Ruth Ann Longhurst of Columbia and William and Betty Longhurst of Cincinnati, OH; three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Mr. Longhurst was predeceased by a brother, George Longhurst and a sister, Janet Houlihan both of New York.

Funeral Services:

A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Grace United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Robert Cox and Rev. Alan Avera.

Visitation will be held 1:30-2:45 p.m. Sunday at Grace United Methodist Church.

The families are at their respective homes.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 W. Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605, or Grace United Methodist Church, 627 Taylors Road, Greer, SC 29651.
