Fred Edward Howard, 93, of N. Highway 101, died December 22, 2013 at McCall Hospice House.

A native of Greenville County, son of the late William Pinkney and Maude Lockhart Howard, he was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII, where he was a recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. Mr. Howard was a member of Highland Baptist Church.

Surviving:

Surviving are his wife, Margie Colien Atkins Howard of Landrum; a grandson, Timothy Gene "Tim" Massengale and his wife, Brenda of Taylors; two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Mr. Howard was predeceased by a daughter, Imogene Howard Massengale.

Funeral Services:

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Highland Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Malcolm Lance and Rev. Mickey Thomas. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Honorary escort will be The Men?s Senior Class.

Visitation will be held 9:45-10:45 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

The family is at the home of his grandson, Tim and Brenda Massengale, 2 Summerdale Drive, Taylors, SC 29687.
