On Saturday, August 26, 2017 after an 89 yearlong earthly odyssey, Iree Gosnell Ellington left our world to be with our Lord and Savior.

Born on June 3, 1928 to the late William Poinsett Gosnell, Sr. and Bessie Pruitt Gosnell, she was a member of Glassy Mountain Church of God.

Surviving:

Surviving are her husband, James Harold Ellington of the home; a step-son, Joel L. Ellington and his wife, Gwen of Greensboro, North Carolina; a step-grandson, Kyle D. Ellington and his wife, Amanda of Mechanicsville, Virginia; step-great-grandsons, Aidan and Declan; two sisters, Lorayne G. Harrison of Landrum and Gladys (Jan) Rogers of Waterloo; and twenty-four beloved nieces and nephews and their families.

Mrs. Ellington had a very special relationship with her niece, Brenda Harrison and great-niece, Dana Jordan who cared for her in her final days (a special thanks to both).

Funeral Services:

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at The Wood Mortuary, conducted by Rev. Deon Louw.

Visitation will be held 12:30-1:45p.m. Tuesday at The Wood Mortuary.
The family is at their respective homes.
