J. C. Ponder, 94, went to be with the Lord on October 31, 2017.

A native of Madison County, North Carolina, son of the late Cornelius and Elizabeth Robinson Ponder, he was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII, area personnel director of Burlington Industries and the owner of Management Recruiters of Greenville.

Mr. Ponder was a Mason and a member of St. John?s Baptist Church, Taylors.

Surviving:

Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Fisher Ponder of the home and a sister, Alta Edwards of Weaverville, North Carolina.

Funeral Services:

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 3, 2017 at The Wood Mortuary, conducted by Dr. Chip Collins, Rev. Delano McMinn and Rev. Jerry Jamerson.

Honorary escort will be the deacons of St. John?s Baptist Church.

Visitation will be held 12:30-1:45 p.m. Friday at The Wood Mortuary.

Burial will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Mars Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Mars Hill, North Carolina, conducted by Dr. Chip Collins and Dr. Dan Lunsford.

The family is at the home.
