James "Jim" Victor Harter, Jr., 79, passed away September 6, 2020.

A native of Mount Vernon, New York, son of the late James V. Harter, Sr. and Veronica Birdsell Harter, he was a retired U.S. Air Force Veteran and a retired employee of Hoechst Celanese.

He was a reserve Sheriff's Deputy and a retired Lt. Col. in the S.C. State Guard.

Surviving:

Surviving are his wife, Kathy Watson Harter of the home; two sons, Thomas Troy Harter (Anna) of Wichita, Kansas and Shawn Raymond Harter (Amy) of Wellford; two brothers; two sisters; five grandchildren, Alyssa Faith Harter, Thomas Raymond Harter, Ansley Caryn Harter, Alexandra Ruth Harter and Toby James Harter.

Mr. Harter was predeceased by one son, Shane Victor Harter.

Funeral Services:

A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at Victor Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Ken Vickery and Rev. Terry Hawkins.

The family is at the home.
