James "Jim" Edwin Wright, Sr., 98, widow of Dorothy Miller Wright, passed away on December 24, 2017.

A native of Spartanburg County, son of the late Laurens Eugene and Ina Gertrude Drummond Wright, he was a retired employee of Community Cash, a U.S. Army WWII Veteran and a member of Fairview Baptist Church.

Mr. Wright was a member of Greer Lions Club, and was Lion of the Year 1991 - 1992 and a Melvin Jones Fellow 2013 - 2014.

Surviving:

Surviving are one son, James Edwin Wright, Jr., of Greer; two daughters, Debbie W. Roe of Greer and Ginger W. Cater of Lyman; two grandchildren, William Zane Cater, (Cala) and Sara Roe Aiken (Greg) and two great-grandchildren, William and Eli Cater.

Mr. Wright was predeceased by four brothers, John Henry, Thomas, Eugene and Walter and six sisters, Helen, Lucy, Sara, Elizabeth, Annie and Agnes.

Funeral Services:

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 29, 2017 at Fairview Baptist Church conducted by Dr. Eddie Leopard and Dr. Drew Hines.

Burial to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

Honorary escort will be the Greer Chapter of Lions Club.

Visitation will be held 12:15-1:45 p.m. Friday at Fairview Baptist Church.
