James Leon Collins, 82, passed away May 3, 2018.

A native of Startex, son of the late Bedford C. and Selma Mae Hopper Collins, he was a U.S. Army Veteran, a retired state trooper and of the Baptist faith.

Surviving:

Surviving are four sons, James Leon Collins, Jr. (Nancy) of Burleson, Texas, Eddy Bedford Collins (Francesca) of Madison, South Dakota, Robert Lee Collins (Catheryn) of Montgomery, Alabama and Lance Foster Collins (Elisabeth) of Taylors; a sister, Joanne Daniels of Greer; and thirteen grandchildren.

Funeral Services:

Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 6, 2018 at Woodlawn Memorial Park, conducted by Rev. Keith Kelly.

Visitation will be held 12-1:15 p.m. Sunday at The Wood Mortuary.

The family is at the home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the S.C. Troopers Association, 4961 Broad River Road, Columbia, SC 29212.
