Jean Hogg Allen, 67, of Decatur Georgia, died July 15, 2013.

A native of Lyman, daughter of the late Roy Dendy (R.D.) and Gena Bright Hogg, she was a retired teacher and counselor.

A graduate of Furman University and the University of South Carolina, she was an avid reader, gardener, and proponent of life-long learning.

Surviving:

She is survived by her daughter, Amanda Schroeder (Jay) of Atlanta, Georgia; two sons, George ?Skip? Davenport, Jr. (Amy) and Mark Davenport (Amy) all of Greer; a sister, Susan Gottshall of Columbia; and five grandchildren, William Davenport, Madison Davenport, George Davenport III, Emmie Davenport, and Eva Schroeder.

Funeral Services:

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Hillcrest Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be held 12:30-1:30 p.m. Wednesday at The Wood Mortuary.
