James Leonard "J.L." Arms, 91, passed away March 4, 2017 at his home.

A native of Greenville County, he was a son of the late Earnest and Geneva Compton Arms, a retired employee of Greenville Steel, a charter member of Northwood Baptist Church, and a US ground Air Force veteran of WWII.

Surviving:

Surviving are his loving wife of 65 years, Frances Lockaby Arms of the home; two sons, Ron Arms (Kay) and Tony Arms all of Greer; one brother, Alvin Arms (Betty) of Greer; one sister, Evelyn A. Lynn (Dever) of Greer; three grandchildren, Chris Arms (Miranda), Alisha Bayne (Brad) and Brooke Arms (fianc� Stephen Holliday); and five great-grandchildren, June, Bennett and Celie Arms and Braylen and Kinsley Bayne.

He was also predeceased by three brothers, Gentry, Hulon, and Clinton Arms and one sister, Gladys A. Lynn.

Funeral Services:

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at The Wood Mortuary, conducted by Dr. Drew Hines and Rev. Chad Watson.

Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Denny Morgan, Steve Arms, Larry Arms, Mike Arms, Brian Arms, and Jeffrey Lynn.

Honorary escort will be the Deacons of Northwood Baptist Church and Rev. David Cobb.

Visitation will be held 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary prior to the service.
