John Lawrence Kemp, 81, passed away November 14, 2017.

A native of Greenville County, son of the late A.B. and Ina Forrester Kemp, he served in the U.S. Army National Guard, was a retired building contractor and a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

Mr. Kemp was an ordained deacon, a mason and a shriner.

Surviving:

Surviving are a son, John "Johnny" L. Kemp, Jr. (Robin) of Landrum; one brother, Louie Kemp (Margie) of Greer; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Mr. Kemp was predeceased by two brothers, Lanny Kemp and Colin Kemp.

Funeral Services:

Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday, November 17, 2017 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held 1:30-2:45 p.m. Friday at the church.

The family is at the home of his son, 3449 Highway 414, Landrum, SC 29356.
