Katherine Martin McCarter, 97, widow of Eugene Caldwell McCarter, passed away December 22, 2016.

A native of Spartanburg County, daughter of the late James Earl Martin and Martha Ann "Mattie" Benson Martin, she was a retired employee of Belk and a member of Lyman United Methodist Church.

Surviving:

Surviving are a daughter, Gayle McCarter of Lyman; a brother, Francis "Pepper" Martin of Greenville; two grandchildren, Martha Leigh Bishop and Christina Marie Rhinehart; two great-grandchildren, Erica Leighanne Troxel and Maria Chastain Bishop; and one great-great-grandchild, Salem Atraeya Troxel.

Mrs. McCarter was predeceased by a sister, Mary Matthews.

Funeral Services:

Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 31, 2016 at Wood Memorial Park.

The family is at the home.
