Kenneth "Ken" Parris, 81, passed away at the Smith Phayer Hospice House in Landrum on September 9, 2017.

Ken was a native of Startex, SC, a son of the late Henry Oscar and Maggie Burnett Parris.

He was a member of Tucapau Baptist Church, and a graduate of James F. Byrnes High School and Robinson Business College.

Ken served his country as a Master Sergeant in the Air Force during the Korean War and was assigned to Strategic Air Command. He retired from the Wamsutta Dye Plant of Springs Industries in Lyman.

Ken enjoyed playing baseball, fishing, NASCAR races and, most of all flying.

Surviving:

He is survived by his wife, Joan Hand Parris; two sons, Jeffery Keith and Stacey Kenneth (Nicole) Parris; three grandsons, Jackson Clay, Quentin James, and Austin Parris; and one granddaughter, Casey Lynn Parris, all of whom were the loves of his life.

Also surviving are three sisters, Mary Wood, Hazel Dill and Virginia Crow; and one brother, Harold Parris.

Funeral Services:

He was also predeceased by two sisters, Elizabeth Stadinski and Allene Justice, and one brother, Charles Parris.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at The Wood Mortuary, conducted by Rev. Mitch Crow.

Visitation will be held 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary.
The family is at the home.
