Mattie Lou Southern Nix, 92, widow of Robert M. Nix, formerly of Greer, SC, died June 27, 2013 at the Elizabeth Hospice House in Hendersonville, NC.
A native of Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late Andy Lee Southern and Letha Elizabeth Dill, a retired employee of J.P. Stevens, and a member of the Greer Church of God.
Surviving are a son, Leland Nix of Greer; a daughter, Gail Rollins of Greer; two brothers, Steven Southern of Greer and Billy Southern of Orland, FL; three sisters, Verdia Ross of Orlando, FL, Carrie Rhodes and Betty Dillard, both of Greer; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by three brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Monday at the Greer Church of God, conducted by Rev. Gene Land and Rev. Don Powell. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be held 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Greer Church of God.
The family is at the home of the son, Leland Nix, 3639 Brushy Creek Road, Greer, Sc 29650.
