Mitchell David Smith, 90, died May 3, 2014 at Ashlan Village.
A native of Spartanburg County, son of the late Perry Law and Mary Ray Smith, he was a retired employee of Lyman Printing and Finishing, owner of Smith?s Cabinet Shop, a US Army WWII Veteran and a member of Liberty Hill United Methodist Church.
Surviving:
Surviving are his wife of 72 years, Earline Hawkins Smith of the home; one daughter, Peggy Henson (Ralph) of Greer; one son Jerry Smith of Greer; four grandchildren, David Lancaster (Julie), Corey Lancaster, Amy Harvey (Jeff) and Brian Henson (Jan) and six great-grandchildren, Tyler Harvey, Emily Lancaster, Jacob Harvey, Hunter Lancaster, Will Lancaster and Hannah Henson.
Mr. Smith was predeceased by one daughter, Janie S. Lancaster, five brothers, Wilson, Nick, Broadus, P.L. and Bill Smith and four sisters, Estelle Smith, Cora Hood, Myrtle Taylor and Ruby Bennett.
Funeral Services:
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday at Wood Mortuary conducted by Rev. Devon Harrelson and Rev. Ray Hatcher. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens with military rites.
Pallbearers will be David Lancaster, Corey Lancaster, Brian Henson, Jeff Harvey, Tyler Harvey and Ken Howard.
Visitation will be held 12:30-1:45 p.m. Monday at Wood Mortuary.
The family is at the home of granddaughter Amy Harvey.
