Nancy Nelson Friar, 73, widow of Rick Friar, died on July 19, 2017 at her home in Taylors, SC.

Though a native of Elizabethton, Tennessee, Nancy Friar lived her final years in Taylors, SC where she was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church.

During her life, she held careers as a teacher, a registered nurse and for over 30 years, as a trust officer at several financial corporations.

Nancy graduated with high honors from Furman University in 1967, but she considered her greatest education to be that as a student of "life on life's terms" and she believed all people who crossed her path were her teacher.

Her greatest joys in life were found in family and for 35 years, in friends in the fellowship of the spirit.

Surviving:

Surviving are one daughter, Sarah Held Hundley, son-in-law Ridge Hundley, and grandson, Liam Hundley of Hot Springs, Va.; mother-in-law, Pat Friar of Taylors; sister-in-law, Ellen Nelson; and her two nieces, Ingrid Nelson and Renee? Daniels, and Sophie her beloved feline friend.

Nancy Friar was predeceased by one brother, Eugene Nelson.

Funeral Services:

Friends of Bill will gather at The Wood Mortuary at 9:00 a.m.

Visitation will be held from 9:45 until 10:45 a.m. followed by funeral services at 11:00 am Saturday, July 29, 2017 at The Wood Mortuary.

Burial will follow in Greenville Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, Nancy asked that donations be made to the Greenville ASPCA or an ASPCA of one?s choice.
