Oscar Ray Brown, 78, of 238 Briarcreek Drive, died September 3, 2013.

A native of Spartanburg County, son of the late Oscar Alexander and Clara Gertrude Bentley Brown, he was a retired supervisor of Spartanburg County Communications 911. Mr. Brown was a member of Tucapau Baptist Church, member of S.C. Spinal Cord Injury Association, former State President of S.C. Physically Handicapped Society, member of Spartanburg Mayor?s Community for people with disabilities and member of Protection Advocacy for people with disabilities.

Surviving:

Surviving are one sister, Ollie Brown Khan of the home; one niece, Sylvia B. Newsome of Weddington, N.C.; two great-nephews Zachary D. Newsome and Alexander W. Newsome both of Weddington, N.C.; one great-niece Samantha S. Newsome of Weddington, N.C.

Mr. Brown was predeceased by a brother and sister-in-law, Jamie L. and Elsa H. Brown and one nephew, David Ray Brown.

Funeral Services:

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday at Wood Mortuary conducted by Rev. Gene Baker.

Visitation will be held at 2:30-3:30 p.m. Saturday at Wood Mortuary.
