Opal Burnette Waddell, 88, widow of E. Vernon Waddell, Jr., died April 12, 2014 at National Health Care.

A native of Spartanburg County, daughter of the late Edgar D. and Annis Greene Burnette, she was a retired employee of Dan River for 20 years, charter member of Northwood Baptist Church and lifelong resident of Greer.

Surviving:

Surviving are two daughters, Patsy Burrell and husband Arnold of Greenville and Penny Hudgens of Clearwater, FL; one sister, Lucy West of Lyman; four grandchildren, Keely and Rich Remedios, Shannon and Younghwa Hudgens, Lt. Col. (USAF) Derren and Gloria Burrell and Bret and Erica Hudgens and seven great-grandchildren, Marcus, Wesley and Krystof Hudgens and Lydia, Luke, David, Rebekah Burrell.

Mrs. Waddell was predeceased by five sisters and one brother.

Funeral Services:

Funeral services will be held 4:00 p.m. Thursday at Wood Mortuary conducted by Rev. Fred Brown.

Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be held 2:30-3:45 p.m. Thursday at Wood Mortuary.

The family is at the home of daughter.
