Rev. Clyde Richard (Rick) Wofford of Lyman, SC passed away on June 15, 2015 at home of melanoma cancer.

Born in Spartanburg, SC on July 30, 1957 he was raised in Landrum, SC.

He was a son of the late Clyde Wofford and Grace Waters Wofford.

He was previously employed as an engineer at American Spinning (Greenville), Progress Lighting (Cowpens), and Raynor Garage Doors (Duncan). He enjoyed his time at each of these positions and made lifelong friends.

Rick was a proud graduate of Landrum High School (1975), Clemson University (1979) and Southern Wesleyan University (2003).

Surviving:

He is survived by and was married to the love of his life, Juanita Merritt Wofford, for 36 years.

Rick was an Associate Pastor and member of Praise Cathedral Church of God in Greer, SC.

He is also survived by two wonderful sons; Rich (Dovie) Wofford of Moore, SC and Ryan Wofford of Denver, CO, and sister Sheri Garron of Landrum, SC.

Rick truly knew that he was loved by his grandchildren Charlotte Rae Wofford and Colton William Wofford; they were the sunshine of his life. Additionally, his niece, Leighanna Grace Wofford; brother in law, Rod Ashley and wife Susan of Simpsonville, SC; sister in law Betty Sue Jensen of Minneapolis, MN; and special cousin, Norma Blackwell of Landrum, SC.

He was predeceased by a brother, Dr. Michael Earl (Carol) Wofford and sister Kathy Elizabeth Wofford Romich.

Funeral Services:

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at Praise Cathedral, 3390 Brushy Creek Road, Greer, SC.

Funeral services will be held at Praise Cathedral on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at 2:00 p.m., conducted by Rev. Jerry Madden and Rev. Richard Porterfield.

Private burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Landrum, SC.

The Ministry and office staff and Chaplains of Praise Cathedral will serve as honorary escorts.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to By His Stripes Ministry, 8871 Warren H. Abernathy Hwy, Spartanburg, SC 29301-1259.

Rick would like to thank Dr. Claude Woollen, Dr. Gerald Rollins, Dr. Michael Tanbonliong, Dr. Paul Ross, Dr. Karen Devore, Dr. Francis Thandroyen, and Dr. Steven Corso and their staffs for their friendship and care.
