Sarah Octavia Finley Chandler, 99, formerly of Ansel School Road, widow of Roy W. Chandler, died April 8, 2012 at Stonecreek Health and Rehab.
A native of Pickens County, daughter of the late John Perry and Hattie Isabelle Jones Finley, she was a homemaker and a member of Fairview Baptist Church for 75 years, where she worked in the Beginners Sunday School Department for 60 years.
Surviving:
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Martha and Dennis Edwards of Greer; a son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Linda Chandler of Greer; two brothers, Charles Finley of Taylors and Ralph Finley of Greenville; two sisters, Edna McCranie of Woodruff and Martha Rutherford of Norfolk, Virginia; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Chandler was predeceased by one daughter, Marian Chandler.
Funeral Services:
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday at The Wood Mortuary, conducted by Dr. James Crocker, Rev. Fred Brown and Rev. Keith Hannon. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Bunchy Godfrey, Chris Talley, Lewis Chandler, Truman Chandler, Donnie Finley and Gerald Brown.
Honorary escort will be the Amazing Grace Sunday School Class.
Visitation will be held 7 ? 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at The Wood Mortuary. The family is at the home of her daughter, Martha Edwards, 1235 Memorial Drive Ext., Greer.
