Wilburn Dendy "Denny" Owens Jr., 88, widower of Mary Elizabeth Copeland Owens, passed away Nov. 27, 2018.

A native of Anderson County, he was a son of the late Wilburn Dendy Owens Sr. and Lois Maxwell Owens. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War, a retired Staff Manager of Liberty Life Insurance Company, a life member of Bailey Masonic Lodge #146 and a member of Fairview Baptist Church.

Surviving:

Surviving are one daughter, Audrey Owens Henderson (Michael) of Greer; one son, David Owens (Kenna) of Greer; a longtime special friend, Barbara Dendy of Taylors; one brother, Don B. Owens of Taylors; five grandchildren, Matthew Henderson, Heather Orrick (Bruce), Charlotte Owens, Thomas Owens (Kaitlin) and Catherine Claycamp (Brett); and five great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by one brother, Harold M. Owens and two sisters, Rose Mary Pruitt and Frances Wilson.

Funeral Services:

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, 2018 at The Wood Mortuary, conducted by Dr. Eddie Leopard. Burial will follow in Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held 12:30-1:45 p.m. Friday at The Wood Mortuary.

Honorary escort will be the Hugh Lancaster Sunday School Class of Fairview Baptist Church.
