William Dennis Ellenburg, 86, of Travelers Rest, died August 16, 2013 at the McCall Hospice House.
A native of Greenville County, he was a son of the late William B. and Erna Roper Ellenburg, a retired employee of Reeves Brothers Manufacturing, a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II, attended Holland Park Church of Christ, and was a long time member of El Bethel Baptist Church, Greer, SC. His first wife was the late Edith Stokes Ellenburg.
Surviving:
Surviving are his wife, Joy Davidson Roper Ellenburg of the home; a son, Rev. Phil Ellenburg (Donna) of Hampton; a daughter, Susan Wynn (Bill) of Spartanburg; his children by marriage, David Roper of Travelers Rest, Ann Allen (Dennis) of Greenville, and Sue Jones (Chris) of Taylors; two brothers, Ernie Ellenburg of Greer and Fred Ellenburg of Travelers Rest; two sisters, Betty Lancaster of Fountain Inn and Mary Alice Campbell of Greer; grandchildren, David Wynn of Charleston and Philip, Abby, Holly and Emily Ellenburg all of Hampton; and grandchildren by marriage, Josh Allen (Ja' near), Tee Suber, Brittany Goddard (Nate), and Brandon and Rachel Jones.
He was predeceased by brothers, Wilson, Alton and Edward Ellenburg and one sister, Ollie Lindsey.
Funeral Services:
Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at Hillcrest Memory Gardens, conducted by his son, Rev. Phil Ellenburg.
Visitation will follow the service Sunday at the cemetery.
The family is at their respective homes.
