Outback rolls out holiday steak promo

Outback Steakhouse has launched a new holiday promotion that includes steak combinations with grilled shrimp, ribs and lobster tail.

The combination plates start at $11.99 and will be available through Jan. 17.

Options include herb-roasted prime rib paired with a lobster tail and served with a side salad; Outback’s signature sirloin paired with a skewer of grilled shrimp; or a six-ounce sirloin served with a half-rack of wood-fired grilled ribs. All are served with a dressed baked potato.

Also among the limited-time offers is a Gingerbread Cookie Martini, garnished with graham cracker crumbs and a gingerbread-man cookie.

The chain also is offering a holiday dessert: Oreo Cookies ‘n Cream Waffles, which include warm chocolate waffle cakes served with vanilla ice cream, cookie crumbs, whipped cream and chocolate sauce.

In addition, Outback is offering guests a free $20 bonus card for every $100 gift card purchased from a restaurant or online. Gift cards are available in $10, $25, $50 and $100 increments, and can be used at more than 750 Outback locations nationwide.

The gift cards must be purchased before the end of the year, but the bonus cards can be redeemed between Jan. 1 through Feb. 10, 2012.


Sonic introduces new Toaster Melt Sandwiches
SONIC, America's Drive-In, is offering two new TOASTER MELT Sandwiches to its menu during November and December.

The new offerings are available for a limited time in two varieties: the Bacon Cheddar TOASTER MELT and the Mushroom Swiss TOASTER MELT. The new products provide the best of both worlds — the satisfaction of a burger in the form of a sandwich.

The Bacon Cheddar TOASTER MELT is a 100 percent pure beef patty with grilled onions, bacon, sliced cheddar cheese, pickles and hickory BBQ sauce between two slices of thick Texas Toast.

The Mushroom Swiss TOASTER MELT is a 100 percent pure beef patty with grilled onions, sauteed Portobello mushrooms, sliced Swiss cheese and mayo between two slices of thick Texas Toast.

The TOASTER MELT Sandwich line starts at $1.99 each.


Friday's brings new Jack Daniel's Premium Grill Entrees
and Langostino Lobster to the holiday season
Through the holiday season, Friday's is inviting its guests to get into the spirit and indulge in the new Jack Daniel's Premium Grill items, including the Black Angus Rib-Eye and the fresh Norwegian Salmon. 

Guests can also treat themselves to Langostino Lobster Topped Premium Entrees like the Black Angus Flat Iron Steak and the Black Angus Sirloin.

The new 10-ounce USDA Choice Black Angus Rib-Eye and fresh Norwegian Salmon are marinated in a homemade whiskey brine with hints of citrus, soy and ginger, fire-grilled and then basted in Friday's smoky-sweet Jack Daniel's sauce.

The Black Angus Rib-Eye and the Norwegian Salmon are served on a sizzling skillet with grilled jalapeno cornbread and a choice of two sides. Both the rib-eye and the salmon are also available with Grilled Shrimp Scampi or Crispy Cajun Shrimp.

|In addition to the Jack Daniel's items, Friday's is offering Langostino Lobster. Wild-caught Langostino Lobster is dripping in a roasted Alfredo sauce with sauteed cremini mushrooms, fresh heirloom garlic, green onion and basil and served as the perfect complement to Black Angus steaks or Norwegian salmon.

Friday's is also offering new refreshments to pair with the new menu items, including the JackBerry Smash cocktail, made with Jack Daniel's whiskey, peach schnapps and blackberries.

And for dessert, guests can indulge in the Cinnamon Apple Spiced Crumble dessert, which can be included in a guest's meal from the latest Pick 2 for $10 menu. The Pick 2 for $10 menu offers guests a great value by pairing an appetizer or dessert with an entree.

Krispy Kreme expands grocery line with chocolate flavored treats
Krispy Kreme is adding two new chocolate flavored treats to its growing array of packaged doughnuts and sweets sold in participating grocery stores, convenience stores and mass merchants.

Glazed Chocolate Pie and Dipped Cake Doughnuts are the newest in a line of Krispy Kreme treats available Nov. 11 in grocery stores throughout the country.

The New Glazed Chocolate Pie, with its smooth chocolate filling and Original Glaze topped crust, joins fruit-filled consumer favorites - Glazed Cherry and Glazed Apple - as the third pie variety.   The new Dipped Cake Doughnuts, fully immersed in Krispy Kreme's special chocolate flavored dip, takes the moist and rich Krispy Kreme Cake Doughnut to a new level. Available in 6-count boxes.

Krispy Kreme packaged treats come individually wrapped, in 6-15 count boxes, or in individual snack packs.

Olympic athlete teams with Sweet ‘N Low for diabetes awareness
In honor of Diabetes Awareness Month, Sweet'N Low has joined forces with gold medalist, Dominique Dawes, to educate consumers about the growing epidemic. 

According to the American Diabetes Association (ADA), nearly 26 million American's have diabetes, 7 million of whom are currently undiagnosed. It is estimated that another 79 million people are at risk for developing type 2 diabetes. By the year 2050, current trends forecast that one in three American adults will have diabetes.

"I am very excited to be joining forces with my favorite sugar substitute, Sweet'N Low, encouraging people to get screened and build awareness around such an important cause," said Dominique Dawes.

"With a history of diabetes in my family, I am aware of the severe effects of the disease and am very pleased to assist in educating Americans about the importance of early detection and appropriate treatment."
