Panthers arrive in camp, first practice Wednesday night

The Carolina Panthers reported to Wofford College Tuesday for its annual training camp through Aug. 13.

Wednesday is the first day of practice with the annual Kickoff Party at 4 p.m. and practice begins at 6:30 p.m. in Gibbs Stadium. All practices are free and transportation is provided from satellite parking sites.

Events Wednesday include the Mayor’s Ball Delivery, on-field performances by the TopCats, Sir Purr, PurrCussion and Black & Blue Crew, face painting, food, and interactive games. 

Move in day took on its own personality:

• Rookie receiver Curtis Samuel was dropped off by his mom,

• Defensive end Julius Pepper had a car service to the player check-in.

• Center Ryan Kalil and his little brother, Matt Kalil, carpooled,

• Running back Fozzy Whittaker arrived with a fire-breathing dragon painted on the side.
