• Obituary:

Karl David Parkkonen, owner of Aspen Concrete Contractors, died Wednesday. He was 41.

Parkkonen’s company was based out of Lyman and specialized in waterfalls, buildings, pools, patio construction, concrete paving and other related services.

He was a native of Rindge, N.H.

Parkkhonen, in an eloquent response to his niece, Hanna, at Easter answered her question this way:

“This started quite some time ago, I completely yielded my life to Jesus, and He came in and completely and radically changed me. I discovered something in the quiet place with Him, when I get on my knees and begin to worship, He meets me there.

“Knowing Him in that quiet place gives me victory in the public place. When I go out into the streets, everywhere I go, I know I’m not alone. I don’t fear the world, I go into the world and I bring change.

“Everywhere I go, I release His kingdom, His presence, I get the awesome privilege of loving people, and manifesting His glorious name. I don’t need to escape from everyday life, I get to release life into the chaos. I get to release love into the chaos. Because He lives in me, everywhere I go His amazing Spirit brings light into dark places.

“There’s no greater place to live than to be intimately in love with Him, and that, is the essence of life. To know Him is to become like Him. The greatest joy, is to love other people.”
