Greer Relay for Life takes center stage today at Dooley Field beginning at 6 p.m.

There are 39 teams and 343 participants helping to raise more than $120,000 for the fight against cancer. The running total was $56,289 early Friday.

Hope under the Big Top is this year’s American Cancer Society theme. The event begins at 6 p.m. with entertainment, the Celebration Ceremony featuring the survivor’s lap and at 8:30 the luminaries are lit with the ceremony beginning at 9 p.m.

Relay for Life is an inspirational gathering for the Greer community to honor cancer survivors, raise awareness what can be done to help reduce cancer risk and raise money to help the American Cancer Society to fight the disease.
