Riverside boys cross country honored for 4A championship

The Riverside High School boys cross country team received a proclamation from Mayor Rick Danner at City Council Tuesday night for winning the  Class AAAA state championship.

City Hall was a venue for champions Tuesday night at its final city council meeting of the year.

The Riverside boys, girls and Kate Ambrose were celebrated with proclamations as state champion in Class AAAA this season.

Riverside's boys placed five runners in the top 21 in the team collecting its first AAAA South Carolina High School League championship. Riverside has won 11 Class AAA titles.

Riverside boys team members are: Kyle Mook, Ben Cignarale, Neel Taber, Andrew Castano, Evan Harrison, William Kennedy and Mark Moore. Eric Cummings is the boys coach.
