Riverside boys end season with loss to Dorman in state basketball playoffs

Riverside’s boys run came to an end Tuesday night in the third round of the state high school Class AAAAA basketball playoffs.

Dorman ended Riverside’s season and the Warriors’ unexpected success in the state playoffs.

Riverside beat Fort Mill, 60-59, in the second round to set up Tuesday’s third round matchup with Dorman. Riverside beat Westside, 66-61, in the first round.

Riverside ended its season with a 16-10 record. Dorman, 21-5, advances to the state semifinals.

In other playoff games last week:

• The Greer girls were defeated by Richland Northeast, 52-50, in the Class AAAA playoffs in the second round. Greer finished its season with a 21-5 record.

• The Greer boys lost a first round playoff game to North Augusta, 67-51.
