Riverside High School students made James’s wish come true and then some.

“Riverside High School students not only raised funds to grant the full cost of James’s wish, they raised close to $10,000. This is the highest amount raised by any South Carolina school during the 2012/2013 school year,” Megan Harding, spokesperson for Make-A-Wish South Carolina.

The students’ main goal was to raise enough money to help grant 3 ½-year-old James’s wish to visit Walt Disney World Resort with his family. “The average cost of a wish in South Carolina is $6,500, with the money Riverside High School students raised, Make-A-Wish can grant multiple wishes,” Harding said.

Riverside participated in the Make-A-Wish South Carolina Wishmakers On Campus program. The program allows students in high school and universities to create awareness about Make-A-Wish, as well as give students the tools to fundraise on their own campuses.
