The Riverside High School Orchestra scored the highest rating of "Superior," performing grade V-VI music at the recent South Carolina Band Directors Association's Concert Festival.

The PRIDE of Riverside Winterguard and Indoor Percussion Ensemble competed in the CIPA Contest at Laurens High School on March 14 and took 3rd place in their respective classes.

Monica Li and Thomas Palmer participated in the South Carolina Band Directors Association All-State Band. They participated in a rehearsal sequence and performed with the SCBDA All-State Senior Band at Furman University.

The Riverside High School Concert Band and Wind Ensemble recognized for outstanding performances at the SCBDA Concert Band Performance Assessment. The bands performed for three judges on stage and two judges in sight reading, for a total of five ratings.

The Concert Band, performing grade IV literature, earned 3 excellent ratings on stage and 2 superior ratings in sight reading for an overall rating of EXCELLENT (22 out of 25 possible points).

The Wind Ensemble, performing grade V literature, earned superior ratings from all judges on stage and in sight reading for an overall rating of SUPERIOR (25 out of 25 possible points).

With these ratings, the Riverside High School Band program is now a candidate for the SCBDA Outstanding Performance Award, the highest honor earned by any band program in recognition of excellence in performance in all areas of band activity.
