Volunteers included 75 from Hayssen Sandiacre Machinery Support, 20 from RMS and 6 from Grace Church. The volunteers planted shrubs, painted the office area, spread 15 yards of mulch, and distributed 3,000 bottles of water and snacks for PASS testing.
The 8th-grade dance was held on April 26 in the school's cafeteria. The themed dance, "Teen Choice Awards" was sponsored by the parents and attracted more than 200 students who danced to music provided by Jumping Jukebox and enjoyed tables of snacks.
The 6th-grade class went on a field trip to the U.S. National Whitewater Center in Charlotte on May 3. The day of learning and fun included: mountain biking, rope courses, rock wall climbing and white water rafting.
Riverside Middle School's Beta Club raised $500 for the March of Dimes as the club's spring service project. Jennifer Mathis, RMS Beta Club Sponsor, presented the check to Brantley Reames, March of Dimes Community Development Director.

The students have been invited to a special recognition ceremony at Duke University. Only about a 3 percent of all the participants in the Duke TIP Talent Search Program qualify.
