As part of their study of the Holocaust, students in Hale Edwards’ 7th Grade Social Studies classes at Riverside Middle School in Greer flew kites on the first day of spring honoring Dr. Janusz Korczak, a children’s author and pediatrician.

He is best known for his help with children’s orphanages during the Holocaust.

The kite flying was in commemoration of the Holocaust, Dr. Korczak, and was part of an international project.
