Riverside Middle students to perform in All State Orchestra

Seven Riverside Middle School students have been selected to attend the South Carolina All State Orchestra to be held at Furman University Feb. 21-23.  Students will work with nationally acclaimed conductors and perform a concert on Feb. 23 at 2 p.m. at Furman University's McAlister Auditorium.

• Eighth grade students from Teryn Traynham's public speaking class engaged in a moot court trial and were judged by Caleb Freeman, a Greenville attorney, venture capitalist and developer of the Traditional Neighborhood Development, Acadia.  Students successfully took on the role of attorneys and clerks.

• RMS basketball teams play at Greenville Middle School, Thursday, Jan. 23 and are home to Northwood Middle on Monday, Jan. 27.  The girls games are 5:30 p.m. and the boys game follow at 6:45. The RMC Royals invite the public to their games.

• The next PTSA monthly meeting is Tuesday, Jan. 21 at 9-10 a.m. Everyone is welcome at these open board meetings. Hear the latest PTSA news and volunteer opportunities. Check in at the front office and you will be directed to meeting location.

• Eighth Grade Individual Graduation Plan (IGP) Conferences will begin Jan. 21 – Feb. 14. Students were sent home with a bright orange letter on Jan. 6 that will give parents’ the appointment date and time for their child’s conference at the bottom of the letter.  For more information, visit the Guidance Department’s website or contact Brooke Howard at 355-7987 or [email protected].

• Anne Frank, A History for Today, the traveling exhibit from the Anne Frank museum will be at Riverside Middle School Feb. 18 – March 28. The exhibit will be open to schools for field trips March 11-28 and to the public March 15-27 during select hours.  Visit here www.greenville.k12.sc.us/rms/ for more information and times.  Please contact Mary Higgins at RMS to schedule a field trip at 864-355-7902.  A donation of $1 per person is requested.
