Riverside's Hancock, Byrnes' Green lead North to tennis win

Riverside’s Matthew Hancock defeated McLeod Barber of Aiken, 6-0, 6-1, Saturday to lead the North to a 5-4 victory in the South Carolina Boys All Star Tennis Classic held at the Pavilion.

Hancock also teamed with Patrick Tobacco (Dorman) to win their doubles match.

Austin Green of Byrnes won his singles and doubles matches, teaming with Rob Long (Clover) in the doubles.

Ryan Space (Wilson) def. Patrick Tobacco (Dorman) 7-5, 6-4

Matthew Hancock (Riverside) def. McLeod Barber (Aiken) 6-0, 6-1

Aaron Newland (Bluffton) def. Ryan Wilson (Mauldin) 6-4, 7-5

Austin Green (Byrnes) def. Ethan Smith (Socastee) 6-3, 6-4

Drew Harmon (Gilbert) def. Crispian McDaniel (Blue Ridge) 2-6, 6-2, 10-7

Rob Long (Clover) def. Matt Marsch (Berkeley) 6-0, 6-2

Doubles results

Tobacco/Hancock (North) def. Space/Newland 8-3

Smith/Barber (South) def. Wilson/McDaniel 8-1

Green/Long (North) def. Harman/Marsch 8-2
