It was a fashion showcase at Breakfast with Santa today at the Cannon Centre.

Children, from infants to pre-teens, treated Santa and guests to faux fur-trimmed dresses, red and green striped coordinates, velvet dresses and sparkling tops.

The event was a sellout within one day of the city opening public sales – the fastest since Breakfast with Santa began. It was held in the Cannon Centre with three seatings of approximately 160 guests.

The city Parks and Recreation staff hosted the event and Laurenda's catered a variety of breakfast foods, fruits and snacks.

Young pianists, taking instruction from Kay Young, entertained the guests with Christmas favorites. Holiday cartoons were shown on wide screen TVs.

Santa Claus enjoyed visiting with the children throughout the morning. And just to make sure Santa remembered their requests, there was mailbox available for children to write Santa with their requests.

The weekend began with the Christmas tree lighting and entertainment at City Park Friday night.

The Greer Jaycees Christmas Parade is Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
