A severe storm with dangerous lightning and booming thunder with drenching rain halted Tunes in the Park midway through the Greer Idol round Friday night.

Four Idol contestants performed – Andre Webb, Carolina Chandler, Olivia Wells and Bethany Ghent – when the activities were stopped. Will Rawls and Lovell Waters will perform their beach music selections at the start of next Friday’s competition.

The competition will then perform a second round.

No voting will be conducted until after next week’s competition. There are only two weeks remaining in Tunes in the Park.

The Shag Doctorz performed one set at 7 p.m.

Jim Quick and Coastline will perform next Friday between the Idol competition.

The final week of Tunes in the Park is July 22 with the Idol champion to be decided and Encore will be the featured band.
