Courtney White will be reporting from Silverleaf on July 4 with its annual celebration from 8 a.m. through the evening.

See Courtney’s weather preview for the event that begins with the Children’s Bicycle Parade at 9 a.m. as the Boiling Springs Fire Department leading the way with a fire engine.

The schedule:

8:00 a.m. - Bike decorating starts at the Pavilion. The HOA is providing patriotic decorations for all.

8:30 a.m. - Children’s Bicycle Parade. Boiling Springs Fire Dept. will have their fire engine at the Pavilion around 8:45am. Please make sure all children participating are wearing helmets.

9:30 a.m. – Memorial Silverleaf Firecracker 5K Run: Start/Finish will be at Pavilion. Silverleaf residents & guests welcome, signups 8-8:30 am race day at Pavilion. There is no cost for participation. T-Shirts will be sold the day of race and all profits go to the Silverleaf Swim Team. Please contact [email protected] for more information.

1:00 p.m. - Pool games – Raft Races, Ping-Pong Ball Splash Race, Backward Running Water Relay Race, Gold Rush, Lost Child Race, Shamu Race, Tug-O-War in Pool, Egg Toss (field), Biggest Splash Off Diving Board, etc.

5:00 p.m. - Cookout! Please bring a side dish or desert to the Pavilion to share by 4:45 p.m. Grills will be lit by 4 p.m. with serving commencing at 5 p.m. Burgers, hot dogs, and soft drinks will be provided by the HOA. BYOB- no glass containers please.

Volleyball – Good fun playing volleyball all afternoon and into the evening.

Fireworks are not permitted on the Recreation Field.
