The PRIDE ensembles place first in performance competition

The PRIDE of Riverside Winterguard and Indoor Percussion ensembles placed first in the Carolina Indoor Performance Association competition last month at Powdersville High School.

RHS band members participate in USC Band Clinic

Sam Johnson, Thomas Palmer and Matt McGee represented The PRIDE in the University of South Carolina Band Clinic last month.

After chair auditions, competing with 40-plus students from across the Southeast, they placed as follows:

Palmer — 2nd chair Clarinet — HONOR BAND
McGee — 2nd chair Horn — HONOR BAND
Johnson — 5th chair clarinet — Clinic Symphonic Band

February Warriors of the Month

The following freshmen who were named Warrior of the Month for the month for February:

Kathleen Buda, Stewart Crandall, Audrey Dods, Jordan Drummond, Mary Parrish Edgerton, Quinton Ford, Noah Frazier, Elizabeth Hall, Andrew Halloran, Jacob Hammond, Lana Heslop, Benjamin Jones, Heidi Lucan, Megan Rudley, William Tapp, Kelly Want, Kia'Mara Williams and Kejia Xu.

RHS students participate in All-State Orchestra

Ten Riverside High School orchestra students participated in the South Carolina All-State Orchestra held at River Bluff High School.

The participants: Louise Averitt, Madison Bevan, Ayumi Chigusa, Ikumi Chigusa, Madeline Corvin, Neil Gramopadhye, Jalyn Haynes, John Meza, Yusef Robinson and Karen Zhao.
