District Five Schools of Spartanburg County

District Five Schools is proud to announce its Board of Trustees has approved the selection of Mr. Todd Hardy as the new Principal of James F. Byrnes High School, effective July 1.

For the last year, Mr. Hardy has served as the Director of Academic Support for the Greenville County school system. Prior to that, he was Principal at Broome High School in Spartanburg District Three from 2010-2015. He assumes the role at Byrnes, as current Principal Dr. Jeffrey Rogers will be taking over the position of Chief Technology Officer at our District Office.

Hardy is no stranger to District Five, as he served as the first Principal of James F. Byrnes Freshman Academy, when it became a separate campus from the high school, from 2006-2010.
He’s a former Assistant Principal at Florence Chapel Middle School, and got his start in the classroom as a Social Studies teacher at D.R. Hill Middle School. We are thrilled to welcome him back home to District Five Schools!

We are certain Todd Hardy will continue the tradition of excellence at James F. Byrnes High School, as he helps it grow, and remain one of the premiere high schools in South Carolina, and our region.
