Veterans, active military honored with smorgasbord of invitations

Greenville Elks Lodge hosts Military Appreciation Day

Many greater Greer area and national restaurants are offering free food this weekend to veterans and active military personnel.

Veterans Day is officially November 11 and will be observed Monday, November 12.

The Greenville Elks Lodge is hosting a Military Appreciation Day inviting vets and active duty personnel at a cookout Sunday at 1 p.m. The event is free.

The veterans will also be honored in a special Veterans Day ceremony involving the Disabled American Veterans and a local Boy Scout troop. The cookout and ceremony will be held outside on the Lodge’s front lawn at 7700 Pelham Road.

The list below is prepared alphabetically on the day of the offers. Most restaurants may require valid credentials or military identification. Check times and offers. This list will be updated as more restaurants report their Veterans Day offerings.

Applebee’s: Free signature entry.

Chili’s: Free meals.

Einstein Bros Bagels: free Signature or Classic bagels.

Hooters: Vets must purchase a drink for 10 free boneless wings.

Little Caesars:
free Crazy Bread.

Olive Garden: Free meals for vets.

Outback: Free Bloomin’ Onion and soft drinks Sunday and Monday.

Pizza Inn of Greer: Free buffet. Check other Pizza Inn locations for offers.

Red Lobster: Free appetizers to vets.

Monday

Denny’s: Spartanburg-headquartered company, free all-you-can-eat pancakes. 6 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Golden Corral: Free meal.

Longhorn Steakhouse: free appetizer and drink.

O’Charley’s: Free meal from new $9.99er menu to vets on Monday.

Outback: Free Bloomin’ Onion and soft drinks Sunday and Monday.

Red Robin Gourmet Burgers: Free Tavern Double (hamburger and bottomless fries) to vets on Monday.

Texas Roadhouse:  Free lunch on Monday to vets from special menu.

T.G.I. Friday’s: Vets pick any lunch item from the menu for free on Monday.
