A Veterans Day event is planned for Saturday at the Eastside Family YMCA in Taylors from 1-4 p.m.
Veterans and active military, and first responder organizations will be honored beginning with a color guard posting of colors at 1:15 p.m.
Johnny Mack Brown, former Greenville County Sheriff, and Lee Mahaffey, Outreach Coordinator for Upstate Warrior Solution, will speak at the second year event.
Organizations will be onsite to offer services to veterans. A humvee and gaming trailer, military artifacts displays and demonstrations, bounce houses for kids and food will be available.
Saturday’s program:
• Introduction - Rebecca Barnes, Senior Membership & Communications Director, Eastside Family YMCA.
• Welcome - Shelley Bierwiler, Executive Director, Eastside Family YMCA.
• Color Guard Posting of Colors
• Singing of the National Anthem
