Valley Grinding & Manufacturing is expanding operations to open a new facility in November in Gateway International Business Park in Greer.

The company manufactures industrial machine blades and knives for paper, film and foil converting.

The number of jobs or when hiring would begin was not announced.

“We are excited to expand Valley Grinding’s services to South Carolina,” said Kim Utschig, co-owner and CEO in a statement. “We have been impressed with the quality of skilled employees available here. Locating this plant in the center of our largest customer base will reduce logistics costs and provide ample opportunity for Valley Grinding to advance business in all directions.”

“High character businesses with a track record of taking great care of their employees and where every employee is treated like a member of the family represent everything we hope for in our new business recruiting program,” stated Wryley Bettis, Chairman of the Greer Development Corporation. “That Valley Grinding helps to further diversify our economy and will create new, high quality jobs, makes us so proud to count them as a new member of the Greer business community.”

Valley Grinding maintains its corporate office in Little Chute, Wis., with service centers in Atlanta, Columbus, Ohio; and Shreveport, La.
