Pastor David Benson invited Williams to speak at Saturday’s special tent service. Williams messaged the event was well attended. An 18-member New Orleans Jazz band performed at the service.
Williams said over 100 members attended the cookout of hotdogs and hamburgers hosted by Kathy Grady later in the afternoon that carried over into the evening. “In addition to retired employees of CPW it was nice to reconnect with old schoolmates – Richard Watson, Steve Harris and Paul Beachem,” Williams said.
The election for the at-large seat is Tuesday in the only municipal election. Jerry Balding, former CPW commissioner is coming out of retirement to challenge Williams.
