CPW recognized for advancement of alternative fuel usage

Jennifer Satterthwaite, Public Information Coordinator for the SC Energy Office, presented Greer CPW an award for advancement of of alternative fuel usage. Receiving the honor, left to right, are: commissioner Perry Williams, City Gas Manager Bob Rhodes, Satterthwaite, commissioners Jeff Howell and Eugene Gibson.
 
 
 
 

Greer Commission of Public Works was recognized as the lone recipient to be honored for advancement of alternative fuel usage.

Jennifer Satterthwaite, presented the inaugural award – Emily Hall Tremaine Local Government Energy Leadership Award – at Monday’s monthly CPW commissioners meeting.

$843 million in retail sales puts Greer in the crosshairs of $1 billion

The new Wild Ace and Pizza Pub is the first construction in the central business district since the City Hall and Municipal complexes opened.
 

A billion dollar laugh. 

That is what was generated Tuesday night when it was announced at City Hall that Greer’s booming economy grossed $843.5 million in retail sails for fiscal year 2014.

Public invited to participate in design workshop for Greer Community Master Plan

Greer City Hall and the Municipal Complex were part of the original Greer Community Master Plan. The public is invited to participate in the next step of the future Greer Community Master Plan Oct. 21 at the Cannon Centre.
 
 

The public is invited to participate in the next step of the Greer Community Master Plan, a design workshop to be held on Oct. 21 at the Cannon Centre.

Two sessions are being planned: noon – 2 p.m. and 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Presentations are scheduled for 12:30 p.m. and 6 p.m.
