The Court of Honor ceremony was held Sunday at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Dunlap is a member of Troop 925, out of Taylors, and his Troop Master is Marty Yigdall.

Man hit and killed walking on shoulder of Locust Hill Road on way to church conference, officials confirm
AUG 20, 2016

A man attending an area church conference was hit and killed while walking along a shoulder of a road.

John William Cowan, 61, of Taylors was killed when a 2008 Ford pickup, driven by a 43-year-old man, ran off the side of the road on Locust Hill Road Saturday and hit Cowan, according to law enforcement reports.

Weather forced a smaller opening ceremony but officials said the fireworks display may be rescheduled this week.

The Northwood Little League Juniors won the Southeast Region Wednesday and advance to the Little League World Series in Detroit.
 

Northwood Little League, for the second straight year, has a team headed to the World Series.

The Northwood Juniors (13- and 14-year-olds) defeated Virginia 4-3 to win the Southeast Region baseball championship today.

Kids learn quality of life skill through iCan Bike summer camp program

Will Cannon is rewarded with a broad smile from Mary Ruth Eielders at the iCan Bike Camp at the Taylors Recreational Center.
 

The smiles on the children’s faces were as wide as the gym at the Taylors Rec Center.

iCan Bike Camp, a multi-state and international event coordinated through the iCan Shine non-profit foundation, is hosting its annual event this week. Children with varying disabilities from Down syndrome to autism are learning how to ride bicycles.
