Region 2-3A Overall
GREENVILLE – Greenville's defense held the explosive Blue Ridge offense in check for three quarters, but that wasn't enough.
The Tigers scored a pair of third-quarter touchdowns and rallied from a seven-point halftime deficit to defeat Greenville 14-7 Friday night.

Three games into the Region II-3A football schedule, Blue Ridge is facing its most important contest so far this season.
The unbeaten Tigers (5-0 overall, 2-0 region) play Greenville (3-2, 2-0) Friday night at Sirrine Stadium in a battle of conference heavyweights.
Greer and Blue Ridge produced an exciting volleyball match that went five games before Blue Ridge came from behind to win 3-2 Tuesday night.
The teams exchanged alternated winning the first four games with Greer beating Blue Ridge 25-18 in game 1 followed by Blue Ridge winning 19-25, Greer going up a game with a 25-15 victory and Blue Ridge squaring the match winning game four 17-25. Blue Ridge won the decisive game 11-15.
The Blue Ridge High School Varsity Competitive Cheerleading Team captured the overall championship Saturday in its own tournament, the Tiger Cheer Classic.
The Tigers won the top trophies as both Grand Champions and Class 3A champions.
Marley Cannon and Rish Durham are team captains for Blue Ridge. The Tigers, who finished sixth at the Class 3A state tournament last year, are coached by Ashley Wardlaw and assistant Amanda Turner.

The Ty Montgomery-Brennan Griffin show returned home Friday night, setting the stage for a third straight lopsided victory for Blue Ridge.
The Tigers, who got three first-half touchdown passes from Montgomery to Griffin in the first half, cruised to a 52-7 win over visiting Berea.
Pep levels are expected to be off the charts this Saturday morning when the sixth Tiger Cheer Classic gets under way at Blue Ridge High School.
Seventeen competitive cheer teams and more than 350 cheerleaders are expected to take part in the event hosted by the Blue Ridge High School Competitive Cheerleading squad.
The Blue Ridge High School football team has spent the first month of the season racking up its share of victories and miles.
The 4-0 Tigers have done the bulk of their work on the road so far this season, winning games at Wade Hampton, J.L. Mann and Eastside, and putting themselves in position for a strong finish with four of their final six games at home.

TAYLORS -- Blue Ridge set a school record for points scored in a game Friday night in an 82-20 drubbing over out-matched Eastside.
Senior running back Mikal Robinson rushed for 169 yards and four touchdowns, and sophomore quarterback Ty Montgomery threw for five more scores and notched the first 300-yard passing performance of his career.

Blue Ridge got the better of a former conference rival Friday night as the quick-strike offenses of both teams were on display in the Tigers’ home opener.
The Tigers scored 35 first-half points and held on for a 59-35 victory over visiting Chapman, improving to 3-0.

The sophomore quarterback has helped Blue Ridge to a 2-0 record with both wins coming over Class 4A opponents. His early season chemistry with receiver Brennen Griffin has fueled the Tigers’ passing game and eased the pain of losing Shrine Bowl quarterback Caleb Rowe to graduation and the Maryland Terrapins.
