Christmas Parade participants, including Gee, brave the cold weather to bring smiles to downtown Greer

A young beauty queen braved the cold and rainy weather, smiling and waving, while traveling the parade route sitting on the back of a convertible.
 

Despite the cold and rain, the Greer Christmas Parade, kicked off at 2:30 this past Sunday, with nearly 70 entries.

Unfortunately the Blue Ridge High School and Greer High School marching bands were unable to attend due to the weather condition's effect on instruments and uniforms.  Many band members came out to watch the parade and ride on other floats to support their schools.

Greer Christmas Parade will go on 'rain or shine'

The Greer Christmas Parade is scheduled for a 2:30 p.m. start Sunday – rain or shine, according to Greer Relief Executive Director Caroline Robertson.

The weather forecast is calling for 100 percent chance of rain with a high of 45 degrees Sunday.
