NGU baseball field expected to be ready for first game

North Greenville University announced that February is the scheduled completion of the first phase of a multi-phase baseball complex renovation and building project.

Situated where the Ashmore Field baseball complex sits on the NGU campus, will be a construction project that will overhaul NGU’s baseball program and will be the catalyst for a much enhanced student life experience.

Greer musician performs with Clemson Symphony Orchestra

Bryn Carrier, women’s junior class president at Bob Jones Academy and resident of Greer, performed the Ralph Vaughan Williams Oboe Concerto with the Clemson University Symphony Orchestra.
 

Bryn Carrier, women’s junior class president at Bob Jones Academy and resident of Greer, performed the Ralph Vaughan Williams Oboe Concerto with the Clemson University Symphony Orchestra at the Brooks Center for the Performing Arts on Nov. 14 under the direction of Dr. Andrew Levin.

Bryn earned this honor after winning the 2017 Clemson University Young Artist Concerto Competition. After submitting an application and a recording for phase one of the competition, Bryn was among seven semifinalists chosen to perform in the final audition in September. The competition was open to high school students of the upstate of South Carolina and Clemson University students. She also won $200 as the competition winner.

Student, 16, charged with carrying weapon on school property
NOV 14, 2017

A 16-year-old student has been charged following an altercation on a school bus with another student involving a dart, according the Greer Police Department.

Greer Police was contacted by an administrator with the Greenville County School District concerning a report of an incident on a school bus where a student possibly had a weapon. Officers with the GPD arrived on the scene within two minutes of receiving the call and learned that there were no longer any students on the school bus involved, according to GPD.
