Vertical Horizon an American alternative rock band, is the headline performers for the 34th annual Pelham Medical Center Family Fest May 4-5 throughout downtown Greer.
The band formed in the 90s is best known for the 1999 hit single, “Everything You Want”. Their most recent album, “The Lost Mile” was released on Feb. 23. Vertical Horizon will perform May 5 at 8 p.m.
Randall Street will be the first downtown street to undergo water and sewer line replacement beginning in the latter part of May.
Greer CPW Commissioners approved $380,535 to Dillard Excavating Co. Inc. for the first phase of the estimated $4 – $4.5 million project to replace the central business district’s aging infrastructure and incorporate a new streetscape appearance. Some of the downtown infrastructure is more than 100-years old, city officials said.
Chase Bryant is the headline performer for the 33rd Annual Pelham Medical Center Greer Family Festival Friday and Saturday, May 5-6, throughout downtown Greer and City Park.
Bryant, 24, will perform a concert on May 6 at 7:30 p.m. He is the youngest entertainer to headline the festival.
UPDATE: Tunes in the Park has been picked up for the 2017 season. Only Greer Idol was cancelled for this year. Dates for this year's Tunes in the Park are below:

Saturday evening's “meet and greet” with singer Edwin McCain had its share of surprises -- and McCain was in on the biggest.
The City of Greer will close the usual downtown streets for this weekend’s Family Fest. However, reserve parking is being offered behind the Hot Spot off Poinsett Street. It is across from City Park where Edwin McCain will perform Saturday night.
Reserve parking Friday is $5 for 6-10 p.m. and $10 Saturday. Festival hours are 10 a.m. – 10:30 Saturday. Call 864-416-1716 to reserve a space or drive to the lot.

Edwin McCain will be the headline performer for the Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce's 32nd Annual Pelham Medical Center Greer Family Festival.

The Bass Fishing Tournament, promoted by the Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce, as part of its spring Family Fest, has been dropped.
The tournament, fished on Lake Robinson, has routinely preceded the festival with the winners presented at the opening ceremonies.

Singing “Jolene” to an appreciative panel of judges, Benton Blount of Greenville made it through Judges Cuts Tuesday night to advance to the next round of “America’s Got Talent”.
Blount’s next live performance will be at Radio City Music Hall.
A panel of judges awarded gold tickets to 17 people who auditioned for Greer Idol at the Greer Family Fest. Eight teens and nine adults were passed through to the callback round in two weeks at the Cannon Centre.
Katelyn Larke won Miss Greater Greer Princess at Saturday’s 31st Annual Greer Family Fest. Larke also was selected most photogenic.

Saturday’s schedule has a variety of activities for children and as the day wears on the entertainment takes over highlighted by Sister Hazel at 8 p.m.
The weather forecast couldn't be better with high in the mid-70s under sunny skies and dipping into the 60s in the evening.
