12 foreign languages offered for USC Upstate's Maymester

The University of South Carolina Upstate’s World Languages Institute will offer instruction in 12 foreign languages during Maymester. Classes will begin the week of May 12 on campus and end week of May 26.

No foreign language experience is required to register.

Instruction will be offered in the following areas:

  • Beginning Chinese - Level 1 (Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5-6 p.m.)
  • Beginning Chinese - Level 2 (Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6-7 p.m.)
  • Beginning Russian - Level 1 (Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6-7 p.m.)
  • Beginning Spanish Conversation 1 (Mondays and Wednesdays, 5-6 p.m.)
  • Beginning Spanish Conversation 2 (Mondays and Wednesdays, 6-7 p.m.)
  • Beginning Ukrainian Level 1  (Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5-6 p.m.)
  • Introductory Biblical Hebrew (Mondays and Wednesdays, 5-6 p.m.)
  • Introductory German (Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6-7 p.m.)
  • Introductory Polish    (Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7-8 p.m.)
  • Introductory Turkish (Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7-8 p.m.)
  • Portuguese 1 for Spanish Speakers (Mondays and Wednesdays, 5-6 p.m.)
  • Portuguese 2 for Spanish Speakers (Mondays and Wednesdays, 6-7 p.m.)

The deadline to register is May 6. Classes are $65 plus books and study materials.
